Empower Boxing emerges as Denver's newest boxing gym located inside Nurture, a wellness marketplace.
With a combination of fight and fitness, you’ll leave each class empowered to take on the world. No matter your fitness or boxing skill level, we find our fight together. For those who want to learn the art of boxing, what we like to call 'physical chess.' This is not just 'fitness boxing.'
Adult Group Boxing Classes:
Suitable for any fitness level, our boxing classes are always a full body workout. Our 45 minute classes are composed of footwork, focus mitts, heavy bags and specialty bags mixed with a bit of strength conditioning. Focus on the fundamentals and improve your technique with Coach recommendations based on your individual skill level while getting a knockout workout.
1/2-on-1 Training Sessions:
Whether you’re training for an upcoming fight or just looking to get your serious fitness on, 1-on-1 sessions with one of our Coaches will take you to the next level. 1 or 2-on-1 boxing or Muay Thai sessions are completely curated to the individual.
If you've never boxed before, we recommend starting with a 1:1, 2:1, or Boxing Beginner Workshop. Empower is a boxing gym, not just fitness boxing, so there is a learning curve that will challenge you mentally and physically!

Amberle Zuerlein - Founder
USA Boxing Certified Coach + Amateur Boxer
Amberle threw her first punch in 2016 and has not stopped since. As an active amateur fighter and founder of Empower Boxing Denver, she has helped many others “find their fight.” She is committed to meeting each individual where they are in their training with an insane passion for boxing. In Amberle's classes, expect to focus on technique and form and be ready to sweat!
Dan Ferraro - Boxing Coach + Amateur Fighter
Boston-born and raised, Coach Dan leads the Intermediate classes with a serious love for boxing. Being a boxing amateur fighter and full-time sparrer provides him the knowledge to guide you as you level up your boxing experience and skill level. In his free time he enjoys Jitz and Muay Thai as well!
Taylor Wright-Johnson - Boxing + Muay Thai Coach
Taylor walked into a boxing gym in 2011, threw her first punch, and instantly her whole life changed. She fought competitively at a young age and has been coaching ever since. A graduate with a degree in Kinesiology, she previously owned an MMA gym in Arizona and recently embarked on a new Colorado adventure! Her specialties are in boxing, Muay Thai, distance running programming, as well as strength and conditioning. Taylor’s approach to fitness has always been to bring the fun back into it. That’s what she loves most about boxing and Muay Thai - it’s a blast!! Your workout should be the highlight of your day and that’s what Taylor strives for. Whether you’re training with her one on one or taking a class, her goal is that you’ll leave with a smile on your face and dripping in sweat. In each session you’ll laugh, you’ll learn, you’ll sweat and you will become the best and most badass version of yourself. Boom.
Madi Stratford - Boxing Coach + Amateur Boxer
Madi's journey with boxing began in 2015, when her boyfriend dragged her into a gym for a beginner's boxing class. She was so intimidated! Some people really looked like they knew what they were doing on the heavy bags and mitts, and she was so scared. Although she had been somewhat athletic her whole life, she was clunky, apologetic, and felt awkward in her body. She certainly didn't realize how much of a full-body workout it was going to be. DANG! She was smoked after one round.
Cut to seven years, hundreds of grueling classes, and sparring sessions later, she's still at it. Every week. Every day. If Madi's not in class she is constantly daydreaming about new drills, and ways to improve herself and others through boxing. She is endlessly inspired by the growing community of women entering this sport, challenging each other, and discovering our power together. Madi realized quickly how everyone enters the gym from a different place, with different perspectives, backgrounds, and sometimes trauma. She's personally worked through so much insecurity, fear, and inferiority through learning how to fight. The beautiful thing she's discovered is that she is not alone. This is why she feels called to help other women navigate these challenges as they enter into this new territory, and have an absolute blast along the way.
